Presumptions of Kaunas region formation of estates as tourist attraction center

Theme of the work – “PRESUMPTIONS OF KAUNAS REGION FORMATION OF ESTATES AS TOURIST ATTRACTION CENTER”. Scientific problem: just after the analysis of estates as formation of cultural tourism objects’ history, of architectural monuments and cultural values, it is possible to foresee their use as a tourist attraction center. Object of work - formation presumptions of Žemaitkiemis and Raudondvaris estates as tourist attraction centres. Objective of work- to analyze formation presumptions of estates as tourist attraction centers. To achieve this object such tasks were brought: 1. To analyze theoretical aspects of cultural tourism; 2. To describe estates of Zemaitkiemis and Raudondvaris as tourist objects; 3. To examine possibilities of estates’ use for cognitive cultural tourism; 4. To foresee trends and means of estates’ use. Main conclusions: 1. Recently, cultural tourism has gained a significant importance as one of the tourism types that has a positive influence on environment. It is forecasted that in the future the world pace of this subject should be faster than general paces of economic growth. 2. Popular cognitive cultural tourism form in the Baltic countries is estates. They can be used for a wide range of activities that do not make material harm to the estate itself. Active integration of estates into economy makes better conditions for preservation of Lithuanian estates. 3. Having done possibilities research of estates’ use for cognitive cultural tourism of Zemaitkiemis and Raudondvaris, we can state that evaluations show not very high condition of tourism culture that is determined by traditional sedentary life of Lithuanians as well as not adequately formed offer, demand and facility of local tourism. • Small part of respondents (5-7%) claims that estates of Zemaitkiemis and Raudondvaris have very big possibilities to become centers of cognitive cultural tourism. • If we want to evaluate possibilities of estates to become cognitive cultural tourism centers, it is necessary to spread information by various means of communication and to change the position of estates’ owners towards tourism. • SSGG analysis show that strong sides of services of cultural tourism are linked with geographical location and cultural heritage while weak sides are linked with policy executed by government towards cultural tourism, the lack of financial resources that are necessary for cultural tourism development
