The perception of sustainable tourism development in Lithuania

Object: Perception of sustainable tourism development. Aim: To identify the perception of sustainable tourism development in Lithuania. Work targets: 1) To investigate the concept of tourism. 2) To investigate theoretical aspects of sustainable tourism. 3) To identify the perception of sustainable tourism development of the respondents. Conclusions and important results: 1. After analyzing the results of the work, it was observed that there is a lack of information and education about sustainable tourism in Lithuania. It`s noticeable that most people don`t know or don`t understand the concept of sustainable tourism. 2. It`s observed that the society perceives the main difficulties, the importance of sustainable tourism, nature protection and the actions and benefits of the society, but they still prefer more polluting vehicles for travelling and don`t choose ecological travel. 3. It was also noted that there is a lack of advertising and information about Lithuania in promoting inbound tourism and sustainable tourism plan development should be established in order to promote inbound tourism in Lithuania and sustainable development
