The peculiarities of physically active high school seniors’ attitude towards a physical education teacher: gender aspect

The thesis aims at investigating physically active high school seniors’ attitude towards a physical education teacher through gender aspect. Therefore, the following tasks were raised: 1. Basing on gender aspect, to explore high school seniors’ attitude towards physical education classes. 2. To ascertain the students’ opinion on the physical education teachers’ favorable and unfavorable characteristics. Accordingly, the thesis raised a hypothesis, which claimed that physically active high school seniors’ attitude towards the physical education teacher varies according to gender aspect. Hereby, the research obtained the following conclusions: 1. The research on the students’ attitude towards physical education classes revealed that: • During physical education classes both boys and girls favor the physical education teacher, variety of physical activities and the jauntiness of the lesson; • However, boys are more eager on showing off during the lesson than the girls claiming that physical education class allows them to rest from the other classes; • Whereas, a part of the boys and girls affirmed that they hate changing clothes addressing the absence of showers at school. 2. The analysis of the students’ attitude towards the physical education teacher’s characteristics discovered that: • Both boys and girls specify the teacher’s professional competence, friendliness and communication skills, also the respect of the students’ opinions, as the teacher’s favorable characteristics; • Hereafter, as the unfavorable characteristics, the boys and girls mark the physical education teacher’s requests to follow the standards, the absence of the teacher’s active involvement into the physical activity during the lessons, as well as, the disregard to the students’ requirements and opinions
