Handball player's conflicts to the microclimate of the team.

In sports, various conflicts between team members happen every day, for example because of improper shoes, inappropriate tone of voice, condemning glance, inadequate completing of the team, differently perceived process of trainings and objectives of competitions as well as differences in characters, attitudes and values of the team members. Conflicts which arise because of the following and many other reasons have some consequences for the process of trainings and competitions as it may deteriorate or, by contraries, improve the microclimate of the team by granting more motivation for future trainings and competitions. It can be noticed that various sports athletes are characterized as being kind, honest, and respectful for the competitors, nowadays more and more negative emotions such as anger and wish to win at any cost, arises (Kerr & Males,2011). Handball is not an option: it’s dynamic, requires strength and aggressive moves while players must constantly respond to changing situation of the game and make the right decision as well as choose the right strategy in few seconds. The aim of the research – to identify the causes and frequency of emerging conflicts in different level handball teams (women and men). Methods of the research used: 1. Meta analysis; 2. Questionnaire (Miskinis (2002) methodology to investigate conflicts in sport); 3. Statistical analysis (χ 2 (chi square) criteria chosen significance level of 5%, average, standard deviation and percentage). Results: conflicts occur more often in lower level women‘s handball teams. The main causes of conflicts in high-level women‘s handball teams are the fear of faults and high psychological stress while in lower-level women‘s teams the main causes are impolicy, rudeness, and authoritarianism. Speaking about high-level men‘s handball teams, the main causes of conflicts tend to be dishonesty and mendacity whereas in lower-level men‘s teams – the avoidance of responsibility. Conclusions: inane communication, fear of error, high psychological stress - these causes of conflicts are more frequent between high-level female handball players. Among high and low level handball players impolicy and rudeness are more frequent causes of conflicts between high-level handball players. Amongst high-level female handball players conflicts between teams during competitions arises more often. In high-level men‘s handball teams interpersonal conflicts arises more often
