Assessment of recreational resource in Raseiniai district

Object: recreational resources in Raseiniai district. Purpose: to evaluate recreational resources in Raseiniai district. Tasks: 1st – to reveal concepts of leisure, recreation and tourism. 2nd – to analyze recreational resources in Raseiniai district. 3rd- to set existing recreational resources in Raseiniai district and their attractiveness to visitors. 4th – to identify improvement directions of recreational resources in Raseiniai district. Working methods: analysis of scientific literature, interviews, content analysis. Main conclusions. 1. Leisure time is the time spent at own discretion, or just free time, which involves individual decisions. Recreation is the recovery of physical strength, health recovery, maintenance, pleasant feelings, experiences reproduction. Recreation and leisure is divided into active and passive. Recreation difference form leisure time is that word leisure time is used in terms of leisure time and recreation - on activities. 2. In Raseiniai district there is enough entertainment, local and inbound tourism attractions, options of tourism and various cultural events. In Raseiniai district there is large number of cultural and natural sites that are adapted to the needs of tourism , many developed rural tourism, catering companies. Raseiniai district have water, cultural, natural, cognitive, emotional recreational resources. The main attraction for visitors is Šiluva, Dubysa river and area around it, Ariogala songs valley Maironis homeland, local history museum of Raseinai, Molavėnai mounds complex, cognitive - recreational trail of Jūkainiai. Recreational area in Raseiniai district is in average stock, there is lack of information about them, they are not utilized by their intended use, are neglected. Popularity of recreational resources is influenced by seasonality of selected summer water activities, fishing in winter - rural tourism, cafes and restaurants. Recreational resources popularity is determined due to good communication and awareness. 3. Trying to improve recreational resources condition there are processed different projects, that improve infrastructure, are processed environment in sights, parks, recreational resources, there is increased awareness of district. There is a lack of recreational services in Raseiniai district: catering, sightseeing trails, groomed resorts, children's playground, winter attractions, tourist centers, that’s why there is a need to develop them. There is a need to offer more information about recreational resources in Raseiniai district and to improve infrastructure for the reason to develop pilgrim tourism
