Attitude of Lithuanian residents towards the situation and possibilities of recreation services in Klaipėda County

Klaipėda County belongs to the Baltic Sea Region and is located near the Baltic Sea aquatorium. Naturally, the Western region of Lithuania has a huge potential for recreational activities. However, the recreation efficiency of the said region is influenced by both the quantity of recreation resources and the qualitative criteria of the manifestation of recreational functions. The funds are firstly allocated to those recreational projects in Klaipėda County which attract international financial institutions, international foundations or foreign capital and promote integration with the European Union structures allowing further development of incoming tourism. Also, rational use of recreation resources is enabled and the quality of the provided services is ensured. The object of the research is the attitude of Lithuanian residents towards the situation and possibilities of recreation services. The goal of the study is to analyze and assess the attitude of Lithuanian residents towards the situation and possibilities of recreation services in Klaipėda County. Objectives of the research: 1. Present and depict the theoretical background of recreational activities; 2. Analyze recreation resources and recreation possibilities in Klaipėda County; 3. Find out the attitude of Lithuanian residents towards the situation and possibilities of recreation services in Klaipėda County.
