Connection of physical activity of parents and spare-time activities of 1-4 form schoolchildren

Research objective: Study the connection of parents` physical activity and spare-time activities of 1-4 form schoolchildren. Research object: connection of parents` physical activity and spare-time activities of 1-4 form schoolchildren. Research tasks: 1. Assess spare-time activities of 1-4 form schoolchildren. 2. Assess physical activity of parents of 1-4 form children. 3. Establish connection of parents` physical activity and spare-time activities of 1-4 form schoolchildren. Conclusions: 1. Major part of 1-4 form schoolchildren is active and follows recommendations of the World Health Organization. 69.85 per cents of primary school children are physically active. However 91.25 per cents of 1-4 form schoolchildren spend their spare time playing the computer and watching TV, so being at risk. 2. More than a half of parents of 1-4 form schoolchildren are not active enough and do not follow physical activity recommendations of the World Health Organization. Only 42.85 per cents of parents are physically active. 3. According to the research data physical activity of children does not depend on physical activity level of their parents, whereas there are 74.51 per cents of physically active schoolchildren of 1-4 form, though their parents do not meet physical activity norms. Suggestions: 1. 1-4 form schoolchildren spent much time at the computer and watching TV. Parents shall motivate their children as much as possible. 2. Wishing the children to be active, we shall stimulate physical activity of parents, because parents are usually the example for their children. 3. We shall increase the availability of sport and dance clubs, so that children from low-income families or rural areas could attend the clubs for free. We shall stimulate physical activity of schoolchildren by organizing sports events, competitions, Olympiads.
