Lasting impact of physiotherapy on functional mobility and self-sufficiency of people with Guillain — Barré syndrome

Research aim: to assess the lasting impact of physiotherapy on functional mobility and selfsufficiency of people with Guillain — Barré syndrome. Hypothesis: We believe that, as far as people with Guillain —Barre sindrome are concerned, the impact of physiotherapy is present 1.5 years after the rehabilitation with improvement of functional independence and self-sufficiency. Research problem. No systematic and comprehensive studies have been yet carried out in order to assess the impact of physiotherapy on patients with Guillain — Barre syndrome after a longer period following the rehabilitation (Leshner & Crawford, 2013). Goals: 1. To assess the balance, functional independence, self-sufficiency and hand muscle strength of the subjects with Guillain — Barré syndrome before and after a 48 day physiotherapy programme. 2. To assess the balance, functional independence, self-sufficiency and hand muscle strength of the subjects with Guillain — Barré syndrome 6 months after the physiotherapy programme. 3. To assess the balance, functional independence, self-sufficiency and hand muscle strength of the subjects with Guillain — Barré syndrome 1 year after the physiotherapy programme. 4. To assess the balance, functional independence, self-sufficiency and hand muscle strength of the subjects with Guillain — Barré syndrome 1,5 year after the physiotherapy programme. Conclusions: 1. Statistically, after the 48 day physiotherapy programme the functional independence, selfsufficiency and hand muscle strength of the subjects improved significantly. 2. 6 months after the physiotherapy programme the functional independence, self-sufficiency and hand muscle strength of the subjects was no data change. 3. 1 year after the physiotherapy programme the functional independence, self-sufficiency and hand muscle strength of the subjects was no data change. 4. Statistically, 1,5 years after the physiotherapy programme the functional independence, selfsufficiency and hand muscle strength of the subjects had improved significantly
