The increace of strenth of arm muscles and training of motion accuracy of patients with Parkinson’s disease

Object of study: muscles strength of arm and motion accuracy of patients with Parkinson’s disease. Hypothesis of study: 8 weeks program of physical therapy carried out with the isokinetic dynamometer Biodex increases the muscles strength of arm and motion accuracy. Aim of study: to evaluate the influence of the physical therapy of motion strength and accuracy of Parkinson’s patients. Relevance of subject – by advancing of Parkinson's disease (PD), it is focused on the improvement of functional mobility of patients. The specialists analyzing the impact of physical therapy on patients with PD health most of the attention gave to the characteristics of gait and the dynamics of postural instability. It was given little attention to the impact of physical therapy on patients with PD and their increasing strength of arms and training of motion accuracy. It is the lack of research, which analyse the impact of physical therapy on patients with PD upper limb training (Suvic, 2014). Parkinson’s disease is a chronic and progressive neurodegenerative disease which is characterized by resting tremor, rigidity, bradykinesia and postural instability. Advanced Parkinson’s disease is often complicated by falls, immobilization and progressive deterioration of overall physical capability that may jointly contribute to a reduced quality of life and even to increased mortality. Despite optimal pharmacologic treatment, a decrease in the strength of arms and motion accuracy of performance is related with absence of independence and sense of security, and this influence quality of life. Methods and organization of study: this research was carried out in basic research laboratory 413 from November 2013 to March 2014. Investigative contingent include two groups: trial and control. There were 10 people with Parkinson’s disease in trial group and 10 healthy people of the same age in the control group. Average of age in trial group - 79,3±6,0 and in control group - 77,9±1,0 years. Isokinetic exercises with the isokinetic dynamometer Biodex were practiced of 10 investigative of trial and control group. Each investigative of trail group participate in 16 procedures of physical therapy. Each investigative also took the machine neuropsychological evaluation tests on the first and the last week of procedures. Goals of study: 1. To assess changes in arm muscle strength at different motion speed of Parkinson’s patients for and after 8 weeks physical therapy. 2. To assess variability of arm muscles motion of Parkinson’s patients for and after 8 weeks physical therapy. 3. To assess weariness ratio of arm muscles of Parkinson’s patients for and after 8 weeks physical therapy. 4. To assess response duration and motion accuracy of Parkinson’s patients for and after 8 weeks physical therapy. Conclusion: 1. Arm muscles strength of Parkinson’s patients were significantly (p<0,05) improved after 8 weeks physical therapy. 2. Weariness ratio of arm muscles of Parkinson’s patients were significantly (p<0,05) decreased after 8 weeks physical therapy. 3. Variability of Parkinson’s patients were significantly (p<0,05) decreased after 8 weeks physical therapy. 4.
