Partnership process in sports organization performance: evaluation of partnerhip model‘s effectiveness

Object of the paper – partnership process and effectiveness of partnership model‘s. Aim of the paper – to analyze partnership‘s process and effectiveness of partnership model‘s. Tasks of the paper: 1. To define theoretical concepts of partnership and its process. 2. To analyze Parent and Harvey (2009) partnership model and its applicability. 3. To explore developed partnerships, required conditions and determinants in sports organization performance. Methods: the analysis of scientific literature; interview; descriptive statistical analysis. Main research‘s results and conslusions: 1. Partnership is inter-organizational relationships, where both parties are invested in a process, share the responsibility and distribute activities among themselves to achieve mutual goals. Furthermore, partnership is considered a process that requires coordination, effort and investment from both parties. 2. Parent and Harvey (2009) partnership model includes three main stages – antecedents, management and evaluation, but can also be applied in any stage of the partnership process. When implemented in a sports organization's activities, Parent and Harvey (2009) partnership model would help improve management processes and could become the core structure that would make planning and coordinating partnerships easier. This, in turn, would increase higher satisfaction of mutual work between organizations and could provide solid grounds for partnership's continuation and future mutual endeavors. 3. Based on the research's results, we can conclude: 3.1. Parties that take part in partnerships are motivated by the opportunity to expand their reach and for this reason, partnerships are often conducted with well known organizations that have the right reputation and are valued in their field; 3.2. Informants agree that partnership should be a coordinated process and appreciate suggested partnership’s model and it's separate stages. 3.3. From the continuation of analyzed partnerships, average and higher compatibility of expert's opinions, calculated in three stages of partnership model, shows and approves that sports federation develops quite successful partnerships, without encountering notable issues with coordinating the process; 3.4. The answers of the informants show that partnership’s effectiveness depends on partners approach to partnership’s process and its management.
