Effects of exercise Gymnic balls and without Parkinson's disease balance

Object of study: Parkinson`s disease balance. Aim of study: evaluate and compare the Gymnic balls and without exercise programs affect the balance with Parkinson`s disease. Goals of study: 1. To evaluate the balance of subjects before and after a physical therapy program with the Gymnic balls. 2. To evaluate the balance of subjects before and after the exercise program without the Gymnic balls. 3. Compare the different physical therapy programs to balance with Parkinson's disease. Hypothesis of the study: we believe that the Gymnic balls, physical therapy program in patients with Parkinson's disease affects more balanced performance than exercise program without the balls. Methods and organization of study: this study was performed in February 2013 – March, patient`s homes, in Kaunas. The study included 8 eldery man, whose age ranges from 53 to 76 years. The subjects were divided into two groups: I the study group (n=4) and II the study group (n=4). Both groups was performing special balance exercises daily for 3 times per week, 45 minutes, 4 weeks. I the studied group exercises were performed with Gymnic balls, II – exercises program without a ball. Patients with Parkinson`s disease was evaluated Berg`s and Tinetti balance the scales, „Up and Go“ test, and The Activities – specific Balance Confidence scale (ABC) I and II testing. Disease stage was defined based on the modified Hoehn and Yahr stage scale. Statistical analysis was performed using Microsoft Office Excel 2003 statistical package. Subjects rated symptoms were assessed indicators calculated arithmetic means and standard deviations.
