Integration of persons with permanent hearing disorder to Lithuanian labor market

The purpose of research – to asses the real possibilities and prospects of employement of persons with hearing disorder in Lithuania by interviewing Lithuanian assotiations of deaf and their employers. The object of research – persons with hearing disorder in labor market. The tasks of research: 1.To acertain, how many deaf people are working for Lithuanian organizations, depending on their gender and the level of education. 2. To asses working conditions and workday duration of people with hearing disorder, depending on their working position. 3. To asses what causes unemployement and difficulties while employing the person with hearing disorder. 4. To asses the approach of employers to person with hearing disorder and prospects of emploement in their company or organisation. The most important results which were found during the research: males and fermales with hearing disorder have permanent job. Many deaf indicated that they are unemployed. Most of the women named the insuffiecient professional level and specialty, which does not conform the demands of labor market as the main reasons of unemployement, while men named lack of higher education. Conclusion, reached after analizing the data of research: 1. After assessing the job prospects of persons with hearing disorder, it can be stated that deaf people have difficulties in integrating to labor market. 2. After assessing working conditions and workday duration of people with hearing disorder, depending on their working positions.The most people with hearing disorder work full time, but not according to their specialty. 3. Research shows that persons with hearing disorder have difficulties in getting employed. Depending on the results, persons with hearing disorder name the lack of higher education, insufficient level of professional preparation and specialty, which does not conform the labor market as the main reasons of unemployement. 4. After assessing the approach of employers to person with hearing disorder and prospects of emploement in their company or organisation.
