Coaches‘ communicative competence of and the need of it‘s development

Object – the communicative competence and the need of it‘s development. The purpose – to evaluate coaches‘ communicative competence and the need of it‘s development. The aims: 1. To explore the conception of coaches communicative competence as a part of the general employee competence; 2. To investigate the importance of communicative skills of the employees; 3. To discuss the presumptions of developing communicative competence and the importance of it‘s development; 4. To explore the need of communicative competence development for sport club coaches. The problem (topic) question: How does sport club coaches‘ communicative competence affect it‘s profesional activities (functions) and how this competence can be managed (developed)? Methods: This study was conducted, applying analyses of scientific publications and a survey (questionnaire) methods. The questionnaire was constructed according to scientific literature analysis (Matkevičienė, 2004; Cecevičiūtė, 2004; Kardelienė et al., 2004; Fominienė, 2006 etc.). Conclusions. Communicative competence of the employees is one of the core social competencies. It means the social interaction, defiend as social communication and cooperation with other people. Communicative competence consists of capabilities to talk, listen, express thoughts and ideas, to understand the interlocuter. Communicative competence of the employees is a part of the high quality service culture. Also it is higly correlated with the organizational competitiveness. Communicative competence is essential for the effective communication between the coach and the clients. The sport club coaches most often declare the need of developing communicative skills after graduating and when starting professional (vocational) activities.
