Athletes' readiness for entrepreneur activities

Object of bachelor study: entrepreneur activity. Aim of bachelor study - to identify the peculiarities of athletes readiness for entrepreneur activities. Methods of bachelor study: scientific literature analysis, interviews, content analysis, systematic, comparison, generalization methods. Results of bachelor study: An empirical study was carried out to determine the peculiarities of athletes' preparation for entrepreneurial activity. This qualitative study used semi-structured interview as a method. The study analyzed what is the prevailing entrepreneurial activity concept among athletes; how athletes perceive entrepreneurs as persons and what are their characteristics; what are the opportunities for the athlete to become an entrepreneur and which athletes can become entrepreneurs; what is the role of universities for athlete who seek to participate entrepreneurial activities; what problems are athletes facing in entrepreneurial preparatory activities; what is the evaluation of athletes entrepreneurial activities in Lithuanian sports field and what opportunities are senn in this field for athletes. The study found out that concept of entrepreneurial activities and entrepreneur, referred by the subjects, does not match the concept introduced in scientific literature. A need for the athlete preparing to participate in entrepreneurial activities to receive both theoretical and practical knowledge in the field of entrepreneurship was discussed. It is therefore proposed to universities that prepare athletes need to include entrepreneurship framework subject in general programs, and include athlete in the practical entrepreneurship training, while reconciling the theoretical and practical knowledge of in their studies. This could be an internship wiht athletes already involved in entrepreneurial activities or executing foreign practices in innovative learning. Given the proposals for self-education, it has been offered that athletes need to develop the necessary skills for entrepreneurship through informal learning opportunities that are offered. Given the fact that there might not be specific areas for the athlete, because everything depends on his attitude and his knowledge and skills, it is required that while studying the athlete should be able to get acquainted with the social and political spheres for entrepreneurial activities that he could engage in the future
