Background: Chronic back pain (CBP) is a multifactorial musculoskeletal problem that affects many people annually. However, due to the lack of back pain-related research in Kuwait, the exact incidence is unknown. It can be caused by physical or psychosocial factors, leading to multidimensional problems, such as psychosocial and economic consequences; therefore, a multidisciplinary approach is required to manage the problem. Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) is an effective psychological approach, which aims to change maladaptive beliefs and behaviour in patients with chronic illness.
