Excerpts from the report: In 1963 U. S. production of truck crops for fresh market and processing occupied 3.3 million acres of cropland. These crops used slightly more than 1 percent of the total cropland. The farm value of truck crops harvested for sale exceeded $1. 2 billion, or an average of $361 per acre harvested.
