The purpose of this essay is to examine how the newspaper Södermanlands Nyheter reported about nuclear bombing on Japan between August 6-20 1945. The survey is conducted by analyzing how the newspaper presents the subject through framing theory and a ”innehållsanalys” consisting a quality and a quantity part. It concluded that the reports were most numerous in conjunction with the bombing and then gradually decreased. The newspaper highlighted nuclear weapons as something terrifying and dangerous that had to be controlled. No party politicial control could be discovered.
