Background: Nurses experience lack of cooperation regarding palliative care. The lack of cooperation can create suffering for the patient and relatives. It is perceived as important to communicate and cooperate with relatives, but it is difficult to decide how this should happen, as it can be a fragile time in life. Nurses feel that lack of time creates holes in communication. Patients in palliative care believe that getting time and being listened to is what is important for health and well-being.
