This system is fiber-based, built around a Michelson Interferometer. A high speed optical delay line utilizing a resonant scanning mirror at 4kHz in the reference arm allows for fast data acquisition. The choice of a superluminescent diode allows for a cost effective system capable of achieving 16µm axial resolution in air and 12µm axial resolution in tissue with a probing depth of approximately 3mm
