The purpose of this study is to identify what, if at all, impact race had on relationship and community building among a small and diverse group of people. The impact of group dynamics and race was measured through a quantitative analysis of the Higher Education and Student Affairs Administration (HESA) program cohort experience. With the increased number of professionals from diverse backgrounds entering the field of student affairs and higher education, understanding how race impacts group interactions may be critical to one’s educational and professional success.
