As an example of two-dimensional art in a Mesolithic tradition, this mural painting depicting a hunting scene with a bull in the Çatalhöyük Museum is dated back to the 2nd millenium BC. Bull was respected for its strenghth and worshipped as a sacred idol throughout that area. The earliest survivals of a bull worship are found at the Neolithic Site of Çatalhöyük. The mural paintings at Çatal höyük are the oldest in the world on human built structures.
