A kereskedés formái és központjai Magyarországon a dualizmus korában

The paper gives a sophisticated survey about the history of different types and forms of trade in Hungary in context with the regional and local centres of commercial activities. Initially, the author gives an outlook about the Hungarian commerce of the middle ages, then makes a completed analyses about the old and new forms of trade of early capitalism existing parallel in the periods of Austro-Hungarian Monarchy (’era of dualism’). The author also demonstrates the hegemony of Budapest in the commercial activity inside Hungary over regional centres and county seats. This hegemony stimulated the majority of foreign and home firms and entrepreneurs to make or start a commercial activity in the prosperous capital of Hungary which led to a permanent shaping of regional structure of commercial activities. The differences between the administrative hierarchy of Hungarian towns and their rankings in commercial importance has been also emphasized and proven by statistical evidences collected in more tables
