Lipide sind Hauptkomponenten der Zellmembran und dienen hauptsächlich der Energiespeicherung und Signaltransduktion. N-acylphosphatidylethanolamine (NAPE) sind dreifach acylierte Phospholipide und fungieren hauptsächlich als Vorbotenstoff für Anandamide. Aufgrund mangelnder Verfügbarkeit von kommerziell erhältlichen NAPE Verbindungen, welche zur Methoden Etablierung benötigt werden, wurden eigene NAPE Standards nach einer abgeänderten Steglich-Veresterung erfolgreich synthetisiert. Da NAPE nur in sehr geringen Konzentration auftreten, wurde eine Festphasenextraktion (SPE) entwickelt, welche dazu im Stande ist, interferierende Verbindungen (wie Phospholipide und Neutrallipide) vom Analyten erfolgreich abzutrennen.
