Oberflächenschicht (S-layer) Proteine sind weit verbreitet und kommen in vielen verschiedenen Arten vor. Oft bilden sie die äußerste Barriere der Zellen zur Umwelt. Dadurch sind sie prädestiniert besondere Aufgaben zu erfüllen. In dieser Arbeit betrachteten wir die sogenannte SLH (surface layer homology) Domäne von S-layer Proteine und Exoenzymen, die einen der wichtigsten Vertreter in der Zellwand Bindung von Gram-positiven Bakterien, darstellt. Das Ziel war die biophysikalische Charakterisierung sowie die Kristallisierung von vier verschiedenen SLH Domänen. Dabei erhielten wir folgende Resultate.
