Das medulläre Schilddrüsenkarzinom (MTC) ist ein neuroendokriner Tumor der parafollikulären C-Zellen der Schilddrüse. Konventionelle Chemotherapeutika zeigen nur geringe Heilungschancen. In der vorliegenden Studie wurden die Wirkungsmechanismen zweier Pflanzen, Cautleya gracilis (Smith) Dandy (CG) und Trailliadoxa gracilis (WW Smith & Forest) (TG), sowie ein Hauptbestandteil von TG, die Ursolsäure (UA), an der humanen MTC-Zelllinie MTC-SK untersucht.
