The Double Transportation Revolution in Languedoc and its Consequences, 1650-1880

International audienceThe Languedoc region underwent two transportation revolutions in the late 17th century and the mid-nineteenth century, the first with the Canal du Midi, the second with the railroad. How did these two revolutions impact the economy and the geography of the region ?
