The author discusses barley hybrids, intergeneric and interspecific,which show tolerance to barley yellow dwarf virus. Dwarf yellow dwarf virus is a disease transmitted to barley, oats and wheat by several species of aphids. This disease in barley causes yellowing of the leaves, stunted shoot and root growth and partial to complete sterility. Oat plants become stunted, sterile and produce red leaves.
