The purpose of this study was to compare the economic effects of sport stadiums on major league and minor league baseball cities by answering these four fundamental questions.1. Do the economic benefits that sport brings to the city outweigh thecosts borne by taxpayers from public subsidies?2. Does athletic entertainment add to the spending in the city or replacespending on other entertainment areas?3. Who benefits from the sport stadium: the local economy or the ownersand players of the baseball club?4.
