The junior golf intern : an invaluable asset : an honors thesis (HONRS 499)

As a junior golf intern for the summer of 2006 I experienced many aspects of an intern's life. I worked long hours, was responsible for a myriad of job responsibilities, traveled extensively in Indiana, and had one of the best intern experiences. Upon completion of my internship I realized how important my role as junior golf intern was to my employer, the Indiana Golf Foundation. This experience sparked an interest to truly understand and analyze the importance and value of the junior golf intern in todays popular and booming junior golf industry.In order to gain a better perspective about junior golf and its interns I selected several junior golf programs across the United States to interview about the industry and their interns. With the help of the Junior Golf Directors at the Indiana Golf Foundation, the Junior Golf Association of Arizona, the Northern Texas PGA Section, and the Central New York PGA Section I was able to more fully comprehend the importance of the junior golf interns for their respective programs and the overall necessity of the intern.The combination of my research about internships in general, sport related internships, junior golf, and the interviews proved to be the necessary tools and topics to truly understand and support my thesis topic; the junior golf intern: an invaluable asset.Honors CollegeThesis (B.?.
