Students from many different majors are subject to both positive and negative stereotypes. Students of the Department of Family and Consumer Sciences at Ball State University are no different in this respect. Following several unfortunate, negative experiences and conversations regarding my major (Family and Consumer Sciences), I became motivated to promote exactly what graduates in this area are capable of doing. In order to do this, I created a PowerPoint presentation that included information about each major in Family and Consumer Sciences.
