Plant geometry is a complex object, combining geometries of numerous different organs, depending of the considered scale of analysis and variable in time and from one species to another. Because of this complexity and plasticity, modeling plants geometry become a challenging multi-disciplinary research topic for eco-physiological modeling to computer graphics. This study begins with the analysis of the various existing types of representation and generative systems of plants models. We identified two categories of approaches for modeling plant geometry : the global approaches, that consider plant as a whole and represents it by an envelop, and the modular one, where a plant is represented by all the geometric models of its components.
