The rising military strategic significance of the Baltic Sea region makes underwater surveillance in the area increasingly important. To efficiently observe territorial waters, be able to monitor regions that are of interest at any time, and detect possible threats in the water, an autonomous surveillance system consisting of multiple units would be beneficial. This swarm of autonomous robots could acoustically detect the locations of unknown objects and report them to enable further investigations.
