REPRESENTASI BUDAYA ETNIS TIONGHOA DALAM FILM ( Analisis Semiotika Charles Sanders Peirce Terhadap Budaya Etnis Tionghoa dalam Film The Fox Exploits The Tigers Might, Karya Lucky Kuswandi )

This study was conducted to find out how The Fox Exploit the Tigers Might movie represents Chinese Ethnic by employing Semiotics method from Charles Sanders Peirce. Admittedly ethnic minorities are not necessarily easy, many complicated events are being carried out, and in the end these ethnic minorities can be recognized. Like the Chinese ethnic with the events of 1988 with Chinese anti-ethnic riots that exploited the ethnic Chinese at that time. With the end of the 1988 event and the Reformation Era was born, where the existence of minorities got a position in the community. But the "affair" of ethnic Chinese minorities or now called Chinese is not an easy matter to be studied until now. The data analysis technique used was documentation technique and literature study. The object of the study was The Fox Exploit the Tigers Might movie, while the subject to be analyzed was Chinese Ethnic representation in The Fox Exploit the Tigers Might movie. The researcher took some pieces of pictures as the analysis units. The study results from the Representament, Obyek, and Intepretant in The Fox Exploit the Tigers Might movie analysis units was the Chinese Ethnic was shown through the symbols from the ethnic itself. This movie also represents the Chinese Ethnic from its economic system of the trade in alcohol, tobacco and Aseng name, social system of the kindship, belief system of the animal, and language of the Hanzi script, proferb adn name of country. For the readers, this movie is a form of media communication from that has a moral value which must be elaborated to understand the message of the movie. There is no movie without moral value
