This study was conducted in an attempt to determine the annual economic impact of Ball State University (BSU) on the Muncie community. As a state-supported institution of higher learning, BSU has an obligation to inform taxpayers of the costs incurred and the benefits derived from its existence. A university uses the resources of its community, but it also contributes significantly to the local-economy and to the quality of community life.This study presents an analysis of the impact of the economic flows for the 1978-1979 school year.
