This Thesis explored background and benefits of recycling of buildings as a method to solve architectural problems. Industrial buildings were selected as significant examples. This study discussed and analyzed the economical, historical and cultural contexts which generate the recycling movement in architecture. The major economical and architectural benefits were identified and described. A methodology of recycling was developed for professional practice. This included the outline of a feasibility study to recycle an existing building.
