Speech sound discrimination ability has been suggested by many writers to have profound effects upon an individual's oral or written language skills. Deficits in this area may often go undetected or, when suspected, remain inadequately assessed. The identification and assessment of auditory discrimination deficits has often been deleted from school programs or inadequately done due to the designation of testing tools designed for individual as opposed to group administration.
