The communication practice features group and pair discussion in the hope that the students will speak the target language in a secure and least stressful learning environment. The teaching of discourse functions is also included in the lessons to give the students the basic knowledge they need to write coherently and to develop a variety of rhetorical patterns later on. The writing lessons mainly provide guided writing practice; the goal is to get the students to write with a minimum of hesitancy and errors and a maximum of confidence.Thesis (M.A.
