Individuals who self identified as fearful of public speaking were recruited from a university in the Midwest, and brought individually into the research laboratory. Upon arriving, they responded to a series of anxiety-related questionnaires used to assess their fear of public speaking. One additional questionnaire measured subjects\u27 imagery ability. Their responses to the imagery ability questionnaire were used to categorize subjects into one of three groups based upon levels of imagery ability (good, moderate, or poor).
