International audienceThe new papyrological edition of a fragmentary calligraphic exercise in Latin of Egyptian provenance and dating to 1st century AD (P.Mich. VII 459, in ZPE 2020) has identified two literary sequences which do not seem to have a parallel in the already known Latin literary tradition. Both the sequences seem to belong to hexametric poetry (perhaps, epic poetry, with a solemn tone). Iuppiter omnipotens is a formular invocation to Jupiter, on one side, and auricomus/lauricomus is a very rare calque from a Greek adjective, on the other side.
