The presence and/or accumulation of exogenous elements linked to environmental and/or occupational exposures induce serious pathologies such as cancers or cardiac problems. However, routine analyses for diagnosis do not detect and characterize these elements in the form of low-concentration particles. To overcome this problem, the medical profession is increasingly turning to basic imaging techniques. In this context, we propose to use Laser Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy (LIBS) to perform these analyses.
