Our research work focuses on the development of executive functions which involve cognitive processes such as : inhibition, working memory, flexibility and planning as well as on their implication in the written language of bilingual children, field that is not well explored in the literature. Considering the school learning particularities in Lebanon and the spelling complexities of each of the two languages studied : French and Arabic, the bilingual child is faced with demands that require additional cognitive effort.
