This PhD thesis is in Music Information Retrieval (MIR). More specifically, Computational Music Analysis (CMA) studies aim to generate musical annotations on scores to understand how it has been composed and how it characterizes the style of a composer. In this dissertation, we propose original models and algorithms, inspired by machine learning and music theory, to model tonality, a musical system that organizes pitches, and cadences, which are processes of closing a musical sentence. These models should help to analyze pieces in sonata form.Three corpora were established during this PhD -- Mendelssohn string quartets, Mozart string quartets, and modulation excerpts.
