The manufacture of a removable partial denture (RPD) in conventional prosthetic dentistry requires several steps both in clinic and laboratory. This succession of steps leads necessary to an accumulation of inaccuracies in conventional RPD with a metal framework. Consequently, the inaccurate working cast can contribute to obtain an inaccurate prosthesis. Introduced by François Duret in the 1970’s, the digital dental computer-aided design (CAD) and manufacturing (CAM) chain is more and more used in dental practices and prosthesis laboratories.
