Carbopol gels are yield-sterss fluids made of a dense suspension of polymer microgels. From rheology and confocal fluorescence microscopy experiments, we characterize different macroscopic and microscopic properties such as viscosity, network elasticity, and characteristic size of the microstructure. The behavior of the gels is then studied in two confined flow situations: a smooth-walled micro-channel, and a soap film. In the micro-channel, we are interested in the law of friction at the wall, i.e. the wall slip Vg as a function of the wall stress s.
