This thesis explores the relationship between work-life balance policies and life satisfaction in the Netherlands – more specifically, the effect of parental leave schemes, informal care provision, and work hours’ mismatches on workers’ subjective well-being. The general problematic of this thesis is formulated as follows; how do work-life conflict and related policies affect life satisfaction in the Netherlands ?
