This thesis focuses on the problematic of succession in family firms. The thesis based on publications is presented in the form of three interrelated articles. We mobilize both quantitative and qualitative research methodology. A first study was conducted on 77 family businesses that had experienced at least one episode of succession that aims to duplicate the analysis of social skills in the context of family succession. This study was extended by a second confirmatory survey of 105 family businesses, to test the effect of social skills post-succession performance.
