International audienceIn recent years, the use of information-centric networks (ICNs) within vehicular ad hoc networks (VANETs) has been shown to be a favourable and deployable future Internet paradigm. Within the context of VANETs, the use of ICNs has many advantages. Indeed, ICNs offer the benefit of in-network content caching and strategies. In addition, ICNs accelerate content retrieval based on the caching of different nodes. Cache deployment within VANETs can be performed at low cost and with low energy consumption. However, the use of ICNs within the VANET context may be challenging. In fact, it may impact network mobility and continuity.
