PERAN VISUAL FIGUR KARTUN DI FABEL DALAM PENDIDIKAN KARAKTER ANAK-ANAK USIA DINI

Early childhood is the most important period of human life development. At this time, all the major instruments of human being formed such as emotional and intellectual intelligence. Some experts call this period as the golden age of development. Currently, according to data from UNICEF, the number of children under five years old in developing countries reached 200 million people, more than a third of them is estimated not able develops fully. This is because of poverty, poor nutrition, micronutrient deficiencies, and the learning environment does not provide enough responsive stimulation. Indonesian government also felt worried with the problem, so they made a character education program for children of early age. To clarify the criteria of character education, the government made a technical reference that can help schools in instilling the character education to their students. This technical reference can be translated independently either in written form or visually into the fairy tale books, exercise books, or book activities. With the rise of the representation of the characters is done through a cartoon figure in the form of fables, author wanted to examine the role of the visual in the fable cartoon figure used by school education
