Since 1990s alternative modes of tourism havebecome important and visible in Western tourismmarkets, and nowadays there is a growing interestin ethnic and indigenous tourism. The utilization ofindigenous people and other cultural minoritiesraises questions of how they are used in tourismproducts, practices and how they are depicted inplace promotion. This article focuses on the latterissue by analysing the representations of indigenouspeople in tourism promotion in Namibia.
