In this research paper, we will shed light on the difficulties that faced the process of incorporating Islamic banking in the Moroccan banking system. We will also highlight the obstacles that led to its utter rejection at the first stage and that impeded its success at the second stage after allowing conventional banks to market some alternative banking products. At the end, we will underline the prospects of this incorporation after the adoption by the Moroccan Parliament of a law allowing for the establishment of Islamic banks
